GRAMICCI
The clothing company Gramicci wanted a booth that would set them apart from everyone else. They allowed me full artistic control provided that it was all made from recycled materials. I decided to go with the theme of sedimentary layers. Four distinct layers of waste materials separated by layers of cardboard created the facade of the booth. The materials (listed from bottom to top) are cardboard, fabric scrap waste, newspaper and plastic bags. Inlayed in to the facade are articles from Gramicci’s current look book as well as illuminated logos. Inside the booth I created barriers representing each of the four layers while at the same time creating separate client work spaces. I also used their flying squirrel image to create an interactive photo booth. This won Gramicci the BOB, Best of Booth award.
